Coin Strike
Coin Strike surprised me. On the surface it looks like a simple tap-to-place defence game, but there's a real resource rhythm underneath. You earn points each wave and have to decide whether to spend them on more units or hold back and upgrade the ones you already have. That tension is the whole game, and it's handled well.
Controls are clean. You drag a defender onto a slot, tap again to pick an upgrade path, and the whole thing works comfortably with one thumb. I played most of it on a crowded tram and never fumbled a placement. The pacing speeds up nicely as you go, and later maps introduce split lanes that force you to spread your attention.
What I liked most is how readable it is. Every enemy type looks distinct, so you learn to react on sight instead of memorising a chart. It's not the deepest strategy game out there, but it's tight, fair, and genuinely satisfying when a plan holds the line.
What we liked
- Smooth one-thumb controls
- Clear, readable enemy design
- Tense resource decisions every wave
